St. John’s has been a sponsor in past years, and I feel that this is a great opportunity for us to be a part of this worthy program once again. I have agreed to spearhead St. John’s involvement this year.

There are several ways we can become involved. There are needs for Soup Donations, Silent Auction Donations, In Kind Donations, and Financial Contributions. With all the talents possessed by our parishioners, we could make various donations.

It may be a lofty goal, but I am confident that we could do two Soup Donations (5 gallons each), contribute items for the silent auction, and make a financial contribution.

The organization is asking for “signature” soups. I’m certain they will have plenty Chili, Tomato and Chicken Noodle Soups donated, so I would like to make something different. I have two soup ideas already: Creamy Thai Carrot Soup with Basil and/or Turkey Sausage Soup with Fresh Vegetables. Copies are also available in Memorial Hall.

We will be provided food grade transport pails for the soups we prepare, and an Empty Bowls volunteer will pick up the soups and other donations on November 20, 2019.

Please consider a donation that works for you and your family. All proceeds raised at this event enable the organization to serve the families that rely on our local Food Pantry and Food Bank services.
Please call me to let me know where your interest lies so that I can coordinate the contributions.

Thank you,
Suzanne Gallant
