St John’s welcomes all people to our worship, and other activities and events. We hope to be a spiritual home, and a spiritual family for you, even though we know that the time we walk together may be short or long. Whatever the time may be, we search for God’s presence among us and blessings together.
Below are some questions that you
might have if you are new:
What is worship like?
Our worship is from the Book of Common Prayer. Each week the worship will center around readings from the bible, a sermon, prayers for ourselves and the world, and Holy Communion. The service is printed in its entirety, including the music we sing, in a bulletin that is available to all people attending.
Can I receive Communion if I am not Episcopalian?
All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion. If you are not baptized, you are welcome to receive a blessing.
How long are the services?
On Sunday morning, the service is usually about an hour. The weekdays services generally are about 30 minutes long.
Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code for attending services at St John’s. We do encourage people to remember they are entering into God’s presence and dress accordingly.
When are services?
The first Sunday of each month we have one service at 9:00am. All other Sundays we have an 8:00am service in the chapel and a 10:00am service in the church.
We currently do not have weekday services but hope to resume once we have a new pastor.
Is the church open for me to come any time and pray?
Due to recent vandalism to the chapel, we not longer keep it open 24/7.
Where is St John’s?
St John’s is located in downtown Wausau at 330 McClellan Street. We are between 3rd and 4th Streets. Please click HERE for a map. Parking is available on the streets surrounding and in the parking lots next to the church.
